Lift’s Got Talent Easter Showcase
This Easter’s Lift’s Got Talent Easter Showcase was bigger than ever. More than 200 people attended the show that was hosted by the young team at Lift including Shanaz Shaw, deputy young mayor of Islington, and Sheldan O’Garro, Isledon’s youth engagement associate.
This is the culmination of all the creativity that has been unleashed throughout the spring term at Lift. Displays were given by TDMC, Roundhouse’s free running team, Sanjuro Martial Arts students, CocoJam dance group and the Dance Roulette team. There was also a performance by Brick City, who reached the finals of last year’s X-Factor and teach vocal coaching every week at Lift.
A great evening was enjoyed by everyone.
Mark Taylor, Islington Council’s director of schools and young people’s services, said: “The showcase was an opportunity for the young people to show how much they have learned by participating in the activities and projects at Lift. The amazing performances showed great self-esteem and confidence, and the huge positive contribution young people make to the community.”Return to blog
